

Telecom criticized for continuous credit checks

In a report released on Wednesday by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC), a Canadian telecom was deemed in violation of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) after repeatedly requesting a customer’s credit history for marketing purposes.
