New 2030 speed target too far away for rural Canada: NDP critic

OTTAWA — NDP industry critic Brian Masse says the new broadband strategy allocated in the 2019 federal budget is a cobbled-together “Frankenstein” approach to boosting internet connections that falls short on funding and comes with an “outlandish” speed target deadline of 2030.
