Redline expands its services in Middle East

The Markham, Ont.-based manufacturer of wireless network technology for mining, oil-and-gas, and utility groups, Redline Communications Group Inc., announced in a Wednesday release that it will be deploying its Virtual Fiber technology in the Middle East. Its Virtual Fibre technology consists of wireless access products that be used in environmental conditions between -40° to +75°C for fixed point-to-point and point-to-multipoint communications and nomadic applications. In its release, Redline said it will “deliver last-mile wireless transport and enhance the service providers' over-the-air, ultra-high-speed broadband access connections for enterprises across the region.” Redline did not respond to questions about which provider it had partnered with. Redline said it won a competitive bid, to provide its equipment and service, for a three-year contract, valued at more than USD $2.2 million (roughly CAD $2.7 million). "Enterprise demands for bandwidth and high-speed broadband are steadily increasing,” Redline president and CEO Richard Yoon said in the release. "This contract broadens Redline's footprint in the service provider industry and lays the groundwork for more opportunities in this sector and in this region of the world." Last week the company also announced that it is deploying it’s RDL-3200 Virtual Fiber for “solutions for a surveillance project that will help ensure the safety and security of citizens, residents, pilgrims, and infrastructure” in Saudi Arabia. “The rugged design and high-speed over-the-air data rates make the 3200 ideal for industrial organizations requiring time-sensitive data and reliable transport for backhaul, HD video, voice, SCADA, and M2M,” the company wrote in its release. It added that its Virtual Fiber will also provide cybersecurity protection and processing capabilities that transport a wide range of point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (PMP) industrial-grade communications in congested radio frequency environments and challenging weather conditions. In October Redline also secured three new oil and gas customer contracts in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Qatar.
